FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

These are the questions every sceptical owner asks in the first ten minutes, answered the way we'd answer them across a bench. No hedging, no "speak to sales", no asterisks.

The first ten minutes

The eight that always come up.

Does my team need training?

Not much, and never all at once. Opsider follows the day you already run, so each person only meets the screen for their own job: drivers open the app and see their stops in order, the bench sees the cut list, the counter sees the POS. Each screen is learnt in minutes because it looks like the work it replaces. Nobody sits through a course on parts of the system they'll never touch.

What happens when the internet drops?

The counter keeps selling. The POS runs offline: sales, weights and tenders keep working right through the outage, and everything syncs back to the ledger the moment the connection returns. No queue of customers watching you reboot the router, and no hole in the end-of-day figures.

Can customers keep ordering by text and email?

Yes. That is the entire point of Order Pilot. Your customers keep texting, emailing, WhatsApping and leaving 11pm voicemails exactly as they do now, and each message is drafted as a priced order waiting for your ten-second review. Nothing changes for them, which is exactly why it works. The change all happens on your side of the counter, where the re-typing used to be.

How does the traceability work day to day?

You receive stock as lots at the door: supplier, kilos, cost, use-by. Call it thirty seconds a pallet, about as long as the forklift takes to back out. Everything after that is automatic: sales draw from the oldest lot first, the cost of that exact lot lands on the invoice line, and a recall or a profit question is answered from the ledger instead of a binder. The full story is on the traceability page.

Does it handle GST and BAS?

Yes, including the part that trips up generic systems: GST is handled per line, so GST-free fresh meat and produce sit on the same invoice as the taxable lines without anyone doing arithmetic at the till. The GST report is BAS-ready, so quarter's end is a print, not a project.

What hardware do I need?

Any modern browser on machines you already own: the office PC, a counter terminal, a tablet by the coolroom door, the drivers' phones. Scales, label printers, EFTPOS terminals and barcode scanners connect through drivers. There is no proprietary terminal to buy, which also means no proprietary terminal holding you hostage later.

Can it run more than one location?

Yes. Each location keeps its own stock and its own lots, with transfers between sites when product moves, so every kilo stays traced even across town. Reports roll up across the whole business or split out per site, whichever question you're asking that day.

How do we start?

Book a demo. If it fits, onboarding loads your products, customers and prices for you, so day one starts with your shop already in the system rather than a blank screen. Early shops join as founding customers, which locks their price in before public pricing exists.

The ninth question is always "what does it cost?", and that one has its own page. Anything else, ask it the way your customers ask you: hello@opsider.com.au

Got a tenth question? Bring it to the demo.
